The CERN Photo Club is proud to support a meaningful initiative that brings the joy of photography to young people in Latin America.

For the past couple of years, the Club has been collecting cameras and photographic equipment to donate to Casa Alianza, an organisation that supports teenage victims of violence and human trafficking.

The donated cameras became part of a powerful project—giving these young people a way to express themselves through photography as a form of art and healing.

Thanks to the generosity of Swiss donors and the cameras received through this initiative, the children were able to take part in a photography course this year.

For the participants, photography became more than simply learning how to use a camera. It offered them an opportunity to discover their creativity, express themselves and look at the world from a different perspective.

The cameras collected by the CERN Photo Club are now helping to make this experience possible, turning equipment that might otherwise have been unused into tools for learning, creativity and self-expression.

We would like to thank everyone who donated cameras and equipment, as well as the Swiss donors who helped make the photography course possible. It is wonderful to see how a shared passion for photography can travel across borders and create new opportunities for young people.

A camera can capture a moment — but it can also open a door to creativity and new possibilities.
